The CASFOS Campus is located in the beautiful New Forest Campus in Dehradun. The Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFOS) Dehradun was established in 1981. CASFOS impart Forestry Education and Training in India. The academy is spread over an area of about 16 hectares. This Academy had provided induction training to 1241 ACF/SFS officers in 35 batches have passed out from this Academy as of date. On 6th August 2009, all three State Forest Service colleges at Dehradun, Coimbatore and Burnihat were renamed as Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFoS).

College Complex
CASFOS Dehradun College complex has training classes in the main building comprising an administrative unit, faculty rooms, four lecture halls, library, one seminar room, computer lab, multipurpose practical lab, an exam hall, reprographic unit and gymnasium.
Accommodation
The college has two hostels for the accommodation of the trainees. These are North and South Hostels and have the capacity of 65 and 130 rooms respectively to provide comfortable lodging to the OTs. The hostel (particularly the North Hostel) is equipped with a television, lounge, intercom, mess and pay phone facility.
Officer Mess
The officers’ mess is run by the trainees and is situated on the hostel premises. The mess committee is elected and it functions under the overall guidance of Vice President Mess, who is a faculty member nominated by the Principal, of SFS College. Every OT becomes a regular member of the mess. The mess provides a forum for formal and informal interactions during dinners and get-togethers.
Lecture Hall
There are four fully furnished lecture theatres of which two have a capacity of 80 each and the remaining two have a capacity of 20 each. All Lecture Theatres are fitted with the latest teaching aids, like OHP, Projection Systems etc.
Conference Hall
The college has a well-equipped and spacious air-conditioned Conference Hall which is utilized for in-service courses and seminars. It has a seating capacity of 50. The facilities available in the Hall are of international standard.
Library
The library subscribes to 4 journals, 10 magazines, 5 newsletters and 5 daily newspapers. Needless to mention, regular purchases of the latest books on varied subjects from the forestry sector as well as on other allied subjects are never compromised. Sports Facilities
Physical fitness is considered as a pre-requisite and adequate stress is given in sports and games activities and a love for the same. The college places considerable emphasis on physical fitness through Physical Training (PT), swimming, and sports facilities. The campus has sprawling grounds for outdoor sports and games.
There are facilities for lawn Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, volleyball, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Table Tennis and board games. The college has a modern gymnasium with equipment for weight training and other exercises.
Extra Curricular Activities
The College provides a platform for the SFS Officers’ Association to organise cultural activities such as Essay competitions, Painting, Photography, Debates, Cultural programmes, Sports Meet etc. The trainees are encouraged to undertake trekking, rafting, mountain climbing and similar other outdoor activities.

Certificate of Accreditation
The Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFOS) Dehradun Certificate Accreditation will remain in force subject to continued compliance with the National Standards. The accreditation needs to be renewed before the expiry date by the training institution following the due process of assessment. Accreditation was granted on 22 September 2023 and will be valid until 21 September 2025.
